Getting Back to Normal

By the time we come to the third chapter of Mark’s Gospel, Jesus has stirred up opposition and it begins to conspire against Jesus (Mark 3:6). Jesus has organized his disciples and sent them forth in his name, granting them authority (3:13- 19). He has performed mighty works for a few individuals, but now he declares his intent to challenge the principalities and powers, going one-on-one with Satan and his minions. In response to his challenge, those around Jesus call him insane and in league with the demonic.
