Ruth
Ruth is an outsider, a Moabite, who breaks social norms to do right by Naomi. She leaves the land she has always lived in to a land where she would be hated. Her very life would’ve been in danger. God honors Ruth’s integrity and diligence by weaving her into the big story of salvation. This is a big message in a short story. It shows how God is constructing his grand story out of the small, seemingly inconsequential stories of everyday people.
